February 21, 2019 - Aged but drinking strong. Grapes totally integrated to one flavour but lowish score reflects it being totally one dimensional even after 2 hours.

Drank at MB, 2 stars, Tenerife.

April 29, 2017 - Perfect cork, no seepage, however cork was stuck and destroyed when pulled out. Very spongy.

Grenache dominant blend (60%), with syrah, cabernet and merlot rounding it out.
V: dark red, veering towards purple. Very youthful.
N: Very discreet, smoke, menthol. Blind, I would have guessed aged carignan.
P: Elegant attack, clove, star anise, tannins still noticeable. Finishes a bit warm with a prickle of acid. Fruit still present. Simple.

Overall, I am far from enthralled. It's good, but not close to scaling the heights. Perhaps in a closed phase, as it still has a ways to go to being fully mature. However, based on my experience with oak-aged grenache wines, I doubt this will improve. It tastes like it's drying out.

24h later: The wine has opened up considerably, shedding the rustic character I disliked. This is singing. The grenache is not dominant in character, nor is the cabernet. It's difficult to peg down. I enjoyed this considerably more on day 2 that upon opening. Highly recommend doing the same.

    Drink or hold to 2024.

July 29, 2015 - Drinking very well, with bright cherry fruit, tar, violet and great acidity. Not a hint of overripeness.
