May 3, 2015 - Nice acidity and balance. Popped and poured and quite enjoyed it. Not amazing but very pleasant. To be honest I was expecting a lot worse as not a huge fans of NZ Syrah but this is quite successful

April 18, 2015 - Very dark purplish red in appearance with a beautiful nose of rich red fruits, peppery spice and burnt rubber (which dominated the wine on the first day but thankfully dissipated by the second). The palate is rather dry and unyielding with impression with red fruits, dandelions, some minerals and a faint touch of oak. The big alcohol (14%) was virtually unnoticed despite its medium-bodied frame. Very inaccessible, tight and ungiving on the first day even with 3 hours decant but much more mellow, balanced and fruit-driven on the second. Overall, it was a good effort but short of spectacular.

May 10, 2014 - Cool climate Shiraz with white pepper and spice on the nose. Rather unfortunately the wine tastes as it's nose suggests - bitter and acrid with vegetal qualities coming from an under-ripe fruit. How this wine won the Sydney international wine show a few years ago is a mystery to me albeit that it's a food paired judging - must gave been some pairing. Not for my palate.

September 8, 2012 - 14.5 % declared but surprised with its elegance and balance. Pure, gently peppery red fruits, subtly spicey florals then a nicely poised and long palate. Residual sweetness became more apparent with further tasting, possibly contributing to initial appeal. Agree with anyone that thinks a percent less alcohol and it's a good wine.

August 30, 2012 - Tasted at 2012 Voyager Estate Masterclass, Taxi Dining Room, Melbourne.
Spicy, pepper, raspberry, plums, soft mid palate, subtle tannins on the finish. Great length. A nice wine.
