Community Tasting Notes 10

October 10, 2023 - Nose was floral and pretty with dried flowers, gingerflowers, sous bois, cinnamon and earth. Palate was undoubtedly grand-cru in terms of weight and intensity with a long finish and lingering red fruit sweetness. The Laurent oak was fully resolved and integrated. Beautiful aged Laurent.

December 22, 2016 - Nose of sweet red and black berry fruit, earthy beet root, sandalwood, Asian spice. Open and luscious palate, in a good place right now. Fruit, spice, and a little vanilla and caramel from the oak. It all works wonderfully together in this wine. A different expression but very enjoyable. Improved and changed in the glass, will keep and likely improve a little in complexity but certainly great right now.

December 22, 2016 - Beautiful wine. Decanted for 1 hour. Beautiful red fruit with a touch of sweetness and Asian spices. Slightest hint of oak. Wonderfully smooth and long. Kept improving in the glass.

October 4, 2015 - Winner of the flight. Subtle floral notes. Nice depth, rich and nice acidity. Certainly not overoaked imo, although when first opened, I could detect the oak...Opened 4 hours prior to serving. It really came together with time in the decanter.

December 4, 2013 - Opened by Allred last weekend when Eyesintime was in town. Deep red color without any noticeable bricking. This did not show signs that it was fading. An earthy nose. Notes of spices, mint, oranges and raw meat. Steely texture. Quite enjoyable now. Not as good as the 1995 vintage that I had back in 2008 but an admirable effort for a below average vintage. 92 points.
