Community Tasting Notes 6

August 11, 2023 - Decided to just open this up, have a glass and then pour it down the sink based on my previous note. Well, muggins here should have applied his old/decrepit Bordeaux rule to this as well (give it some air & hope it comes together). The oxidised notes are here but they are joined by leather, earth, red cherry, sweet spice, leather, sous bois, mushroom, earth...there is a touch of fruit sweetness on the palate as well as talc textured burr joining. Rather nice.

March 8, 2023 - Coravin fun - Burgundy (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Biscuit, caramel, sweet spice, quite oxidised notes, a little leather, sous bois, muted fruits,. It's quite oxidised and a touch rancio on the palate, softly textured burr. Past it's best. FLAW for what it is.

November 2, 2020 - From Coravin. Showing a little volatility and caramalised oxidation over red cherry backed by black fruits and plentiful sweet spice. Plaate is fresher than the nose implies with talc texutred tannins offering structure, with time tertiary leather and mushrooms join in. This is nice but probably something to tuck into fairly soon...

December 25, 2019 - Christmas Day 2019 (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Note from 23rd pretty much applies here with the fruit growing over time in the glass. Lacked the stuffing to go with the rather gamey duck I served with it. Fortunately had a second option.

December 23, 2019 - From Coravin. Aromas of coffee, toast, muted ripe red berries and a little cranberry, sweet spice. With time a certain creamy noes and the fruit ripens a little and is joined by black tea and a touch of raisin. Juicy red and black fruit, earthy, leather, silky tannins. Long. Nice.
