February 4, 2018 - Very interesting wine. Soft fruit tones but with herbaceous second tones that remind me of a rose garden. If I didn’t know of this style of wine, I’d be surprised but really enjoyed this wine.

November 25, 2017 - I purchased 4 of these wines from Rimmerman back in 2011. I have had 2 of them so far, and both felt very manipulated, with ripe and candied flavors and an odd, off-putting vinyl or sulfur note that completely turned me off. I decided to try bottle #3 today, with some "bar food" (wings, etc) during some college football games. FINALLY, the wine seems to be coming around, and is coming across as enjoyable. Still not my favorite profile, but I see the underlying quality here (referenced in Galloni's positive reviews on other vintages). Drink now through 2019+, it is getting there...

April 27, 2017 - Another great showing. Tasted on the second night, very floral, lavender and violet, interesting and complex, this is very different but well balanced and with a long tasty finish.

  • Neecies Does not like this wine:

February 21, 2017 - Lacks the weird vinyl flaw of some previous bottles but it's a weird mess nonetheless. Peculiar nose, black currant midpalate and a sour finish that pretty much duplicates the experience of drinking the juice from the dill pickle jar. So distasteful we opened and fed all three remaining bottles to the camellias. Good riddance.

February 8, 2017 - In 2013 I said: "Strange wine. Bizarre nose, floral but like no flower I actually know. On the palate, the flavors are black--sparse fruit with black radish and vinyl. If that makes no sense, well, neither does the wine." In 2016 we had another, very cherry red-fruited with good flavors reminscent of a young Cornas. Tonight's bottle? Back to black and 2013. Unable to drink.
