May 2, 2014 - Pretty good, but not remarkable

March 2, 2013 - Let us not fool ourselves, this is a good $10 wine, but the restaurant will charge you far too much. Opens rather poorly, but with some air it becomes curiously sweet on the front and spicy on the back end. Cherry, with the earthen mushroom notes you'd expect from a CdR. A little bit of orange peel as well. Beautiful color. Decent, but not special at all.

February 10, 2013 - Wonderful depth and length.

October 27, 2012 - First impression (0-1 hour after opening) was not good at all. Muted flavor, taste of wet oak (nothing noble) and sharp alcohol. Next day it opened, with apricot / red berries flavor (with dull but heavy oaky background), became tastier and more integrated - good enough to sneak into "good" category, but next day it became dull again. It is not merry wine; if you are in a bad mood it can make a good company assuming you kept it open for a few hours.

October 15, 2012 - Day 1: opened at room temp. Tannins and alcohol overpowered the flavors. Day 2: chilled slightly. MUCH Better. Pepper and fruit emerge, alcohol, and tannins settle to a nice balance.
