Community Tasting Notes 1

April 15, 2004 - Drunk at Bourbon Street with friends. Blackish purple color. Tasted next to 2001 Vasse Felix Shiraz, there was a clear difference in styles. The Vasse Felix possessed much greater acidity, making the Darkie seem a little flabby. However the concentration on the Darkie was better. After about an hour of air the Darkie started to come into its own. Black fruit with overtones of chocolate and licorice, it would have been better with greater air time.
