November 19, 2022 - A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Syrah, 17% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc that spent 30 months in 100% new French oak.
    Decanted off the heavy sediment.

A developed nose leads to well-integrated scents of leather, cassis, Luxardo cherry, fig and plum sauce, spice, anise, herbs, cigar tobacco, cocoa, vanilla, dried violets, slate, graphite and earth notes.
The palate is supple with velvety textures and polished resolved tannins. Rich flavors coat the palate with notes of cassis, Luxardo cherry, strawberry preserve, plum sauce, spice, anise, leather, tobacco, herbs, floral pastilles, slate, cocoa and earth. Long through the complex finish.
This wine is completely integrated and showing complexity alongside tannins that are fully resolved. This is drinking superb.

October 30, 2021 - This bottle was one-dimensional. Very dark fruit & cocoa at the onset, the acid kicks late for a long finish. Did not find layers to the flavor. Might be time to drink up.

May 4, 2021 - Started out a little strong w/grape Kool-Aid fruit, but mellowed out with a little time to a wonderful wine.

February 18, 2020 - Just about ready - a bit of prune starting to show up, but still vibrant with tannins you front. 30 minutes of air soften and balance it well. Has 5+ years left on it.

April 29, 2017 - Unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy too much of this as I had to stop (five bottles open tonight), but man the nose was powerful. This was retrieved from my fridge by a guest and I didn't protest, but hardly a pop and pour wine. Had it warmed up and breathed it would have been killer! So far my favourite of the Long Shadows collection. I love Washington wine :)
