March 20, 2020 - I adore this wine from a producer that I feel consistently releases wines at the very top level. Rich golden color. The nose explodes with chalk, apricot skin and tangerine. The fireworks continue on the layered, thrilling palate that is just loaded but still drinks with precision. The spicy finish is a nice surprise. Great juice. (95)

April 24, 2017 - Golden color. Enticing nose of dried apricots and chalk. Loaded with extract - so many layers of flavor. I sense apricot, apple skin and minerals. Rich yet dry - a winner. Needs some air time and do not serve too cold. (94)

May 26, 2014 - Fleshy and full in the mouth, and seems like it's in an awkward phase, adolescent. After an hour open the aromas and flavors show a very lovely greenness, like herbs and grasses and trees.

June 20, 2012 - This is without a doubt the best Großes Gewächs I have ever drunk (at least that's how I feel right now). Forget everything you have heard about GGs: they are hot, they are stern when young, they need more time, they are lacking fruit, they need some RS( I think many do), etc., etc. This wine was so impressive with its cheery cherry skin and slate mineral nose and mouth entry and a swallow that explores fathomless depths. I am at a loss for words ( think red apple skin, green apple meat, blue slate, cherry skin, slightly saline; it is just so utterly delicious and drinkable.
