  September 17, 2017 - Glad I waited on this one. Gorgeous aged rioja with powerful yet balanced flavors of red fruit, spice, and a little cotton candy (although obviously no sweetness - bone dry). Tannins that were present but settling into maturity. Great value too.

  March 21, 2013 - On day one this was a rather monolithic berry fruited wine with quite some tannin and an acidic backbone - put it in the fridge for two days, voila. A warm nose of cooked cherries, cinnamon covered raw ribs comes forward (not as devastating as it sounds) - on the palate this is now supple and juicy with a red berry fruit underlined by balsamico and very well used fine oak. Medium finish, quite a lot of tannins left to chew on.
  
  Very good wine, needs a lot of time to open up, will hold for a decade or more - and as an afternote, I didn't think that this wine would be half as good as Parker rated it!
