April 6, 2024 - Popped and poured. This is a vibrant ruby wine with a darker core and material sediment cake on the bottle. The nose is shy at first, but opens nicely into brush, cherry sauce, coffee grounds, and orange peel. In the mouth, I get black cherry, smoke, and plum aspects, which fold into a long and dark-fruited finish on which the tannins are completely integrated. Overall, I found this to be a rich, dense, and satisfying wine. It is a nice all-around hitter that shows yet transcends the appellation. Given the density of the wine, the significant retained sediment, and how this opened up favorably over time, I would recommend decanting for a few hours. Very nice indeed. 93 points.

September 29, 2023 - CdP blind tasting. Illuminating evening, while there were some nice and complex wines there were also quite a few misses. Issues revolved around either not aging well and becoming pruney, oxidative with cooked fruit aromas or just being too heavy/sweet/alcoholic. TN: Shows how much my taste has changed. I found this really heavy and extracted with pruney characters coming through. Very modern.

June 4, 2023 - Deep ruby in appearence -still opaque at age 13 or so.

Finally some evolution on the nose after a decade plus in the cellar- blueberry liqueur, vanilla, herbs (garrigue) and even some cut flowers. Very impressive and fresh.

Lots of structure , acidity and flavor concentration on the palate. Atypical for a CDP of this age. The finish is long and savory.

Overall-drinking very well but this has the stuffing to last for another decade if stored properly.

February 5, 2022 - Deep ruby in appearance- the wine is still totally opaque with only a hint of lightening at the rim at age 12 or so.

I have always found the nose reticent on this wine and this bottle was no exception. However after an hour in the decanter the wine opened up for business with a pronounced nose of black fruit , blackberry liqueur , charcuteries and herbal elements. Very impressive.

The palate is full bodied with terrific structure , acidity and flavor concentration. Mostly black fruits on the palate which suggests plenty of evolution to come. The finish is medium plus.

Overall this continues to be a structured and "backward" 2010. Fine to drink now , but I will hold off on the rest of my bottles for another 5 years or so.

July 26, 2021 - Deep ruby and still opaque- very unusual for a CDP at age 10.

This bottle may be the most backward example of a 10 year old CDP I have ever encountered. The wine is packed with red fruit, blueberry liqueur and spice and herbal elements, but it took two hours in a decanter for the aromas to emerge (bottle pulled from cellar that morning).

Super structured on the palate with lots of acidity and tannin. Full bodied and after 3 or 4 hours of air the finish trends towards long.

May be a one off bottle, but I will forget about the rest in my cellar for another 5 years.
