Community Tasting Notes 1

October 22, 2011 - Decanted for half an hour and poured back into the bottle. Had only one glass on the first day and retried on day two. Nose of cherries, vanilla and a bit of leather. Distinctive Hawkes Bay palate of vanilla and chocolate balanced with biggish tannins and a lovely long finish - a good 30 seconds long. Surprisingly big but a nice wine that suprised me somewhat. Could have actually kept this one locked away for another 2-3 years to let it soften up a bit more.
