October 10, 2020 - Retail $35. This is the third and last bottle of this wine that I purchased at the winery back in 2012. The first two bottles were stellar as is this final one. Fairly light in the glass, a lovely, translucent ruby with aromas of Bing cherry, eucalyptus, black pepper, and herbal notes of mint and sage. The palate is equally appealing: incredible fruit, even ten years out, rich and layered with fantastic acidity. I drink a ton of Pinot and this $35 Ayres competes with many a wine twice its price. Excellent. thedrunkencyclist.com

April 4, 2020 - Retail $35. Red berry fruit, eucalyptus, and even a bit of mint emanate from the translucent vibrant wine. The palate is initially very fruity and quite tart, with sour cherry, a bit of earth, some mineral notes, and just a hint of tannin on the finish. This is pretty darned good now and might improve, though only slightly, in the short term. thedrunkencyclist.com

November 9, 2019 - Usually one of our favorite value pinot noirs, but this bottle had turned bad.

January 3, 2018 - Such a good wine and excellent QPR

  • Mild Plaid Likes this wine:

July 30, 2016 - Light color; tart red fruit on the nose; palate of herbs and red fruit. Beautiful. Could continue to age for several more years (at least, this magnum could have).
