Community Tasting Notes 6

  • ashegedyn Does not like this wine:

May 23, 2017 - So this is not my cup of tea. The nose is closed a bit muted but hints of kirsch like hint. On taste overly sweet with a heavy texture - more Cali Pinot crap than Burgundy. Kirsch like with tannins still in force. Some nuance but no Vosne spice or elegance. Really a shame - but I still wonder if it is the vintage or the grower. Not much experience with Bertagna. Vintage has been a bit of a miss for me. No elegance or complexity that I expect from Vosne.

October 31, 2015 - HDH Bordeaux Auction; 10/30/2015-10/31/2015 (Chicago, IL): There's a lot of sweet red fruit on the nose. There's a definite porty character on this, with a lot of dried prunes and other ripeness. Not particularly roasted, but overripe. But given the bigger tannins and all, it's not an awful drink.

January 15, 2009 - The color was black and the nose was actually more reminiscent of a barolo, with rose petals and black fruit dominating. The flavors, however, were classic nuits pinot. I drank this over 2 days and it just kept developing. Cellar 2 more years, if you can.

December 4, 2008 - Very delicious! Raspberry creamsicle nose, super-silky mouthfeel and LONG finish. A hint of lemon verbina as well on the nose. Really nice to drink.

August 9, 2006 - Started off subtle and nice and digressed from there.
