November 29, 2021 - P&P. Great showing. At first the wine looked old, golden color and the nose was very reach, a bit off balance, clumsy. after a few minutes in the glass, the wine was in a much better shape. Nose on candied citrus, yellow fruits, mint and slight honey. The palate is beautifully balanced, quite rich but with enough acidity. great length. very good wine, ready now.

Loads of slightly green fruit (the Carillon signature) with a lot of the aloe vera note you get from the best Carillon vintages but what really stands out is the tension - the acidity on the palate here is just amazing, so fresh and interplaying with the fruit in such amazing ways. It's not a broad wine, but when it's interplaying on the narrow part of the palate it combines in fascinating ways and it has tremendous power in that space. The fruit is lithe and clean and honestly, this is the reason I drink white Burgundy. My wine of the night, and I only wish Jacques made more of this and it was cheaper.

August 11, 2017 - Dinner at Galletto's (Galletto Ristorante, Modesto Ca.): Label fell off after a cool down in the fridge...maybe a Rudy reject? ;-) Ripe and creamy fruit, some baked apple softness, butter sautéed pears...slight ox more so on the nose. But VERY bright with that ripping 04 acidity which kept lifting the wine, even when hints of ox would try to sneak through. Gained and gained throughout the night...and at times amazing with the right bite of food. Deep honey notes and spices...pretty honeysuckle and white flower florals...and my favorite, chalky dusty minerality. Not as pure as most C. BBM I've had...but a fine wine nonetheless.

March 22, 2017 - From a very good, fresh bottle. Perfectly balanced; the texture and finish of this wine... stunning.
