February 26, 2013 - For the price, it's not too bad. I'll second the fact that that others are echoing in the tasting notes that this is very much a everyday kind of wine. It's a little thing, but fruity and exhibiting enough fruit to be pleasing. I'd go ahead and pick it up for any simple dinner you can throw together.

October 4, 2012 - smells like not quite ripe red cherries. Taste is a little sour. First try of a tempranillo.

June 9, 2012 - a simple, fruity red. Not really recognizable as Tempranillo, but if you are looking for a bright and sunny red with lots of cherry fruit you could do worse fort he price.

March 15, 2012 - A non-traditional wine for this varietal in my opinion. Very light bodied, pleasant aroma with nicely balanced oak and vanilla notes. Too sweet for me, lacking in real fruit flavors - and a very short finish. Does have a little nice tingly acidity which is a redeeming factor. An okay wine at the price point (less than $5 in a sale) but not what I'd want in a Tempranillo - especially from a Spanish version of this wine. I recommend Longoria Tempranillo for a great California version of this variety.

January 8, 2012 - (13.5%) With the pronunciation of the grape (temp-rah-NEE-yo) on the label and comparison to something more familiar (“Pinot Noir in blue jeans”) this wine is positioned as an intro to the varietal. Ripe, round cherry fruit on a lush palate that turns just a touch earthy and spicy on the mid-palate (with a hint of orange rind) before a creamy vanilla finish that shows light tannins. Given the start I thought this one would be juicier but it is denser in the mouth than expected. At $8 this is a nice, smooth “wine” though not what I am looking for out of this varietal.
