  November 25, 2017 - This qualified as solid but not superb. It did seem to age well over the seven years it sat in my cellar. No problems, but wished it had a bit more to give.

  August 28, 2016 - Very pleasant and very mature 2nd label Napa Valley cab from an excellent producer. A very reasonable QPR right now at our price point. In a mature drinking window and anticipate at least 1-2 more good years but definitely recommend putting these into the drinking rotation and starting to drink up any remaining holdings - do not see any further potential upside with continued cellaring. Decanted for about an hour, probably benefits from a short decant or some time in the glass prior to consumption. Purple, very soft mouth feel, medium bodied, very well integrated, tannins & acid essentially gone and this wine has a somewhat shorter then expected but very pleasant aftertaste. Nose soft and muted with dark cherry, cassis and a hint of smoke. Primary flavors included detectable but well balanced oak, initial dark cherry and cassis with development of darker tones of blueberry, earth and leather later in the palate. Definitely recommend this wine but as noted above would recommend starting to drink up any remaining holdings.

  March 5, 2011 - Nose: Cherry Candies, Sassafrass/Root Beer, Slight Chocolate. Less candied on day 2. Palate: Enters with big red cherry and raspberry. Slightly tart in the midpalate, and then shows some sage, oak and iron characteristics. Finish: Quite tart with fall leaves, medicinal cherry and sage. This was held overnight, and should have been finished on day 1.
