Community Tasting Notes 5

April 3, 2011 - Another great Special Reserve. The aromas filled the room with smells of dark cherries and plums. On tasting lots of dark sweet cherries and red plums with some chocolate and tobacco. Lots of depth and juiciness. The tannins were smoothing and the finish long.

November 25, 2010 - Thanksgiving BIG Bottle (3L). Decanted 2 hours before serving - got better through the meal and after. Enjoyed in particular by John, Melissa and me.

August 16, 2008 - Open for the virtual 2003 cab OL. Ruby red in color. Aromas of blackberry, coffee and leather ... the blackberry coming out, really, in later pours with a little air time. On the palate, deep dark fruits (black currant?), dark chocolate, coffee and some spicy brambles. A bit of a tannic bite on the finish. I left this one open in my cellar to breathe for a number of hours before jumping in. Definitely benefits from some air time as it really opened up over the night. I have another one of these socked away which I will let sleep for awhile before opening.

October 9, 2006 - Magnificent red with rich aromas lush fruit taste but not heavy fruity some of these special reds. Nice mix of Cabernet Franc with the Cabernet Sauvignon. Almost as good to look at as to drink and enjoy. Elegant wine ready to drink now and for years to come

June 24, 2006 - DEEP RICH BLACKBERRY, BLACK CHERRY AND CURRANT FRUIT IN THE NOSE AND FLAVOR. NICE COMPLEXITY AND A MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.
