June 14, 2018 - Great viscosity. Mid-gold colour, still quite fresh. Grapefruit and oak, quite restrained, on the nose. Hits you up front with quite an intense initial burst of initial flavour, driven but not dominated by a combination of oak and acid. A lot of fruit flavours (grapefruit dominant) through the mid palate, fading gradually and pleasantly. A lovely, well-made wine that is up there with the very best NZ Chardonnays we have tasted of late.

July 7, 2016 - There you go - give a wine another 12 months (and possibly room for bottle variation) and it can be completely different. I actually enjoyed this bottle. The fruit is powerful but the acidity gives it some balance, and the oak is nicely integrated. All in all a nice wine.

March 19, 2016 - 12 months since I last had this wine and the acid has mellowed so an extra point , still drinking young

    90 Points
Colour , bright, brillant pale yellow with green hues
    15/15
Nose lemony grapefruit peaches citrus white florals spicy oak 26/30
Palate medium bodied good intensity of flavours rich texture and a honeyed flavour maybe coming from the barrel fermentation a touch too much acid dominating the fruit ,very long flinty finish 40/44
Overall 9/11 first bottle of tried , great nose , palate a little too firm , great finish maybe another couple of years needed to integrate fruit and acid

December 7, 2015 - Very similar tasting notes to last time. A very intense wine, with almost a syrupy mouthfeel. Honey, lemon and grapefruit. Medium length. the fruit dominates everything in this. I won't be buying more of this, its not poor quality just a style I am not enjoying.
