November 29, 2013 - This just keeps getting better. Decanted for 3 hours, drank over about 4, the depth and complexity of this delicious wine blows me away every time. Lovely with turkey and stuffing. Deep purple, silky mouth, robust finish. Smooth, fruit-forward. I agree PINOTHOARDER's notes are right on. Fabulous by itself, but really comes alive with food.

May 18, 2013 - Pinothoarder's notes on this are great, so I don't need to say any more. I did want to emphasize the comment regarding the QPR.....I 100% agree that even at list price of around $40 this wine delivers in a big way. This is everything I want in a bordeaux blend and this will be one wine I actively search for. Awesome!

    Purchased from winebid.com on 12/23/2012 for $24.15

April 2, 2013 - Decanted for 30 minutes. Nose of acetone, vanilla, and ripe fruit. Palate of ripe red fruit, herbs earlier on, and chocolate. Soft to medium tannins.

January 7, 2013 - Decanted 2 hours and consumed over 5 hours. Head-to-head against the '08 Adams Bench, Red Willow Cab Sauv. Although the AB was a solid cab and a good food wine, the Woodinville was the clear winner tonight. Intense aromatics and, overall, just a lot more well-rounded and smooth. Similar notes as 12/1/12, but I have more appreciation of this being a more versatile, drink-on-its-own type Bordeaux blend than before. Note to self: 75% Cab Sauv / 13% Cab Fanc / 12% merlot is a good blend. Good value at $45 retail; a steal at $25.

December 1, 2012 - Decanted 2 hours and consumed over 8 hours; showed at its best between hours 4 - 8.
Medium nose concentration and nice rustic complexity on the nose. A dirt-forward style with very dense fruit; very reminiscent in style to a DeLille Cellars Chaleur Estate that I had on 11/9/12. Crafted in more of the true, old-world, Bordeaux style. Consumed without food, but due to the low sugar levels, I think this would be much better if paired with a hearty steak, or sweet chocolate. Not that its acidic, its just that the rustic style doesn't provide for that much sweetness by design.
To me, this type of style is better appreciated with food. This is just starting to enter its peak window and will likely improve into a 93-94 by 2014; where it will likely hold fast for at least another decade.
