November 29, 2012 - From the cool 2008 vintage in Michigan. The first vintage of this wine. 70 cases made. 100% Cab Franc. Made in a Chinon style. This had a little plastic on the nose which blew off. Light to medium bodied wine. Sweet and rich texture with notes of red currant and grape skin. No greenness that I could detect. 88-89 points.

November 26, 2012 - Dinner with xhoser (Topaz Cafe, Burr Ridge): Light color. Cherry and lavender notes- very subtle bouquet; pleasant herbal undertone. Nice acidity with cherry and red fruit qualities and a mineral-tinged finish. Thanks for sharing VM- it's always fun trying one of Jim's wines. Doing so always brings back memories of dinner in the vineyard.
