Community Tasting Notes 92

May 4, 2019 - Opened this at the end of a fundraising dinner while I was cellar raiding and it was quite good. This was probably at its peak, or we all had just had a lot of wine and were charitable, but the earlier note about oaky tannins doesn't really apply now. Nice strawberry jam notes, nice pain grille and herb notes. But it's the last bottle of it, and I still don't think I'd spend the money on it again.

April 13, 2019 - Popped and poured from a 750. In a great place right now- the tannins have integrated leaving a great mouth feel. There's ample red fruit dominating, but the Mourvedre in the blend lifts it up. This one is still on the upside with plenty of life ahead of it.

April 7, 2019 - I gave this over a week of small sips-per-day but it never struck me as anything more than hot and distinguishable/unremarkable in any particular way. I'm not the biggest CdP fan anyway, but I can love some of them. This one, nada. 4+9+14+6= 83

January 24, 2019 - Still not altogether. Def needs more aging in the bottle. Signs of greatness.

December 25, 2018 - Garnet with a hint of brown. Decanted a half hour before notes. Black cherry, blackberry, liquor nose. Rich mouthfeel, slight bitter edge, good balance. This is open and approachable right now with the decanting. Good drinking window. With ham, potatoes, rutabaga Christmas dinner. Julia liked, Ei - delicious, tastes like cherries.
