December 24, 2022 - Late Dec 2022: brown amber color; bouquet of apples and other tree fruits plus scents of petrol; oily texture; started with a strong juicy, fruity acidity and a slight astringency on the palate; several hours later the acidity had mellowed down resulting in a more balanced mouthfeel. 88-89/100

March 21, 2020 - Not just the obvious botryoides but clearly oxidized by color, smell and taste. Perhaps this was great at one time and I would have hoped it could age but now it’s over the hill.

March 21, 2017 - This is sure to be a polarizing wine...
As the color clearly indicates, this wine had a significant amount of botrytis, which is not limited to sweet wines. At this stage, the varietal expression is quite limited. The wine finishes with astringency and bitterness. Little left at this point. Disappointing.... Does this amount of botrytis work with a dry Riesling?

March 24, 2010 - Great nose, left a lot to be desired on the mouth. Very acidic and probably past, not enough fruit left to call it an in between funky bottle, this was just done.

September 16, 2008 - the wine was sound this time, complex and we had it with the PG and some very spicy indian curry. I owuld have liked it on its own. complexity is very high, smoke flavor, but it is a bit feeble for what I was hoping. sitll, better than the last bottle.

(Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Rangen de Thann Clos St. Urbain) Light medium apricot color; baked apricot, almond, marzipan nose with a little reduction; tart baked lemon, citrus, mineral palate with good acidity, a little one dimensional though; medium finish
