    May 25, 2023 - Drank at inventory/labeling at Chateau 55; was excellent

April 12, 2022 - Light red with faint brownsh tinge. Just a gorgeous Burgundian nose-low key red fruit, char, and a scooch of green herb. Light body. Mellow, poised, ripe red fruit, and complex with a wonderful alkaline/limestone finish. Hard to complain about this wine, which has performed well above expectations over the years and is pretty much everything you'd like to find in a mature Burgundy at this level.

June 30, 2021 - Garnet with fading. Sexy, smoky red fruit aromas. Light weight but real sap. Combination of strawberry, pomegranate, herbs, and soil. These 2002 Boillot Volnays have overdelivered for years now, and if this bottle is any indication, they're not done yet.

January 3, 2019 - Light ruby throughout. Sweet cherry and plum joined by some cooler elements. Medium weight, definite sap, some smokiness, and fine acidity. Thin but present vein of soil. Another 2002 Burgundy with superb depth of fruit without being overly ripe. By far the best bottle of this I've had, and as opposed to the CT suggested shelf life, bottles in this condition should be fine for another 5 years.
