August 15, 2013 - I dig the aromas of pan-fried pork chop, green herbs, and dry earth. Nicely structured on the palate, racy, not too tart. Alcohol is 11.75% but this is very dry and not at all underripe.

June 2, 2013 - An excellent expression of the grape. Red and black fruit aromas fight for dominance among supporting notes of sage, grape stem, and licorice. On the palate, bright acidity highlights the red cherry, raspberry, and blackberry flavors. I liked how this wine tasted of the land, with really nice mineral support. A clean, quick finish left me reaching for another sip.

March 14, 2012 - Good, interesting wine. Red fruits, baking spice and earth. Tart and quite structured from the mid-palate through the finish. Really like it. Hope I can find some more.

January 8, 2012 - This didn't really show much to me. Along side the Laurel vineyard pinot this seemed somewhat muted and less flavorful.

December 29, 2011 - This is a new one for me. Drank over two nights, with and without food. Bright, limpid maroon. Fast, thin legs. Fleshy nose of strawberries and cinnamon. Inital palate shows fleshy fruit upfront that reminded me of childrens chewable aspirin. This then quickly transitions to a very austere and structured mid-palate and finish. A very interesting bottle: at so many different points it seemed like this wine could go sideways in a bad way, but just as it threatened to freak out it would turn a corner and play nice. It's like two distinctly separate wines combined into one bottle. However, everything was brought together in a very harmonious manner. It wasn't quixotic or disjointed. Went nice with food. This wine is like the vinous eqiuvalent of a Portland hipster - quirky, cool and different.
