January 28, 2017 - Inky dark red ruby, nose of iodine, green pepper. Dry chewy tannins, bold fruit and body. Acid on the front with the tannins give some balance to the fruit, but needs more open time to harmonize, primary on opening.

April 14, 2013 - Full, fruity, tannic, with high alcohol. Good berry fruit up front with some chocolate / espresso going on, especially after some air. Medium to medium-plus finish. I wouldn't drink this wine by itself in it's current state, but it was very nice with a steak.

If I had another bottle I'd let it sit a few more years to let the tannin mellow or decant now.

October 8, 2012 - APPEARANCE: Beautiful, dark, clean color
AROMA: Blueberries, black pepper, and oregano
TASTE: Extremely long finish. Well over five minutes. Vanilla bean pod and blueberry pie for days with nice firm tannins. A lovely and well made wine.
