September 23, 2022 - It was like an orange wine in colour!

It was tight upon opening w/ sherry on the nose. After 30 or so in the decanter and over the next hour we went from sherry to Turkish delight, to marmalade, butterscotch and loads of nutty notes. The ‘03 has been the best of the series that I’ve had from ‘02 - ‘06 but to see how this evolved was EPIC

September 22, 2022 - Very Orange in appearance. Slightly damp and musty upon opening. Sherry characteristics upfront, orange zest, amaretto, marmalade, which evolves to Turkish delight and a bit of cashew nuttiness. Definitively all tertiary and time to drink up. In comparison to the 03, 04, 05 and 06 we’ve recently tried this one has progressed the furtherest.

December 14, 2012 - Christmas and End of Year Tasting: Lime, minerals, apple and pineapple aromas. Lively palate with great length and restraint. Very youthful still but just starting to hint toward development happening over the next few years.

January 16, 2007 - {cork, 13.5%, A$45} Another bottle was opened. Better. Still lemon / gold. Nose of stone & lanolin, with a light veneer of oak. Mild tannins on the palate, but less flinty and acidic than I was expecting. Good palate coverage, but not really persistent on the finish. Somewhat greasy texture. Not especially convincing.
