May 4, 2017 - PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Dark purple color. Dark fruit plum nose. On the palate, still very fruity, but starting to fade. Not much in the way of tannins. 87pts. Aloha!

January 27, 2013 - This bottle is much better than my previous one. Juicy black fruit, not overripe at all, moderate acidity, with sweet tannins. Very smooth from start to finish. I would probably drink this sooner rather than later. Enjoy it now for the lively fruit as I don't expect many secondary flavors to develop. A great value.

November 1, 2012 - At first there is overripe fruit and an abundance of oak, this blows off after an hour or so. The fruit is still very ripe with red berry, pomegranate, and rhubarb, but also has a dimension of structure to it. Acid starts to pop on the finish.

October 13, 2012 - Decanted about an hour before served with braised short ribs. Inky garnet color. Notes of black currants, cassis, black cherry and licorice. Firm tannins have a sweet edge; cassis, brown sugar and black fruit notes with a long finish. Well-balanced, but tight and oh so young. Drink 2015-2025.

February 3, 2012 - Rich cherry mixes with zingy acid and some sweet oak. A bit of a floral element. Fairly long finish. An easy drinker -- good but I don't really see it going anywhere.
