October 14, 2022 - Volnay theme: Still remarkably fresh on the palate despite an orange hue to its appearance. Guessed a cooler year like 2006 with the high acid and dark red fruit that didn't seem too ripe, but from a more structured plot. A little spice on both the nose and the palate. Some found the rusticity and tannins a little distracting but I liked this.

September 24, 2022 - BEAUTIFUL AGED COLOR WITH A LITTLE ORANGE EDGE
    DELICATE ELEGANT NOSE
    SOFT ACIDS WITH SUFFICIENT BODY.
EXCELLENT FRUIT ACID BALANCE. FRUIT IS PERSISTANT BUT AT SAME TIME EARTHY.
    SOFT BUT LONG FINISH. ELEGANT
BEST VOLNAY I'VE HAD IN A LONG TIME

August 8, 2021 - blind tasting chez David: Burgundy mishmash: Volnay, Chambolle, Puligny, Rully and Pouilly Fuisse

aromas of roasted red meat, roasted root veggies, iris, red fruit, citrus, cloves and baking spice

silky and rich rich texture upfront, but falls a little short on the finish, lively and fresh overall

    mature and savory, quite nice

    guess: Chambolle 1999

April 8, 2020 - Perfectly mature bourgogne. Sweet, silky fruit (ripe strawberries, raspberries, lingonberries and sloan) sous bois, truffle, iron tinged minerals, a light touch of charcuteries and a lovely, tingling spiciness that is especially prominent on the long, savoury finish. Good acidity, tannins resolved, great complexity and balance. Perhaps at times borderline thin fruitwise and a touch greenish, but overall a very good showing. No need to wait further.

November 30, 2019 - Same notes as the last bottle, drinking very well now with great fruit and balance. Dark cherry, savory notes, long and pleasant finish. Lovely.
