March 1, 2024 - (14.5% Alkohol) Noch jugendliches Granatrot. 89 vvPunkte

December 10, 2023 - This was singing last night. A brief decant was all it took for the wine to wake up. A beguiling boquet of tar, roses, and herbs. Loads of cherry and layers of Monforte fruit with structure to boot. The tannins were melded into the wine and seamless. This is clearly modern, but in the best way possible. The wine is right in the drinking window. It balances primary fruit with secondary nuances and lovely mouthfeel. I’m sure this will continue to age well for another decade, but I would only suggest waiting if you are looking for tertiary notes to move more into the forefront. Enjoy!

December 1, 2022 - A textbook Clerico Barolo, loaded with fruit, Mosconi-power and the gentle richness of the 2007 vintage. Full in body and quite explosive & expansive in the bouquet and the overall feel. This shows fleshy, as ripe dark berry & cherry, tar, sweet brown spice, sweet licorice, new leather and a whisper of oak arise, between warming tannins and luscious, tightly woven units of thick texture. Intense, sweet finish.

October 21, 2022 - During a Barolo/Piedmont tasting lunch, not blind. I found this wine extremely bitter on the palate, overodne with torrefaction notes, super dry, hard work.

October 15, 2022 - Notes of menthol, mint, dark berries, some sweet cherries, tar, spices, cedar, some tobacco leaf, pine, violets. Excellent depth, pretty full body, good persistence and pretty high acidity adding superb tension and medium+ tannin adding grip. Long finish. Excellent Barolo from the prime of this great producer.
