March 30, 2019 - This is drinking beautifully and vindicates keeping this one for a few years - it’s so much better than so many higher-priced wines. Dark red with hints of purple and no signs of age. The nose is fabulous and complex: blackberries, earthy notes, herbs and leaves, perfumed violets; hints of burgundy; this was almost a maximum score for me. Medium-bodied flavours, with rose-infused berries. Lovely balance of fruit and floral. A still-great finish with spicy notes. This has been the most perfect wine to keep - cheap, but it has developed massively over the last six or seven years.

October 1, 2017 - So pleased to have kept this. A beautiful ruby colour with some purple still and a little dull opacity. A good nose of mixed fruits and floral notes (a deep rose scent) - red berries and currants; masses going on; some smelling salts coming through too. Light but rich in the mouth. Red fruits, still with good tannins, a lovely streak of even lighter fruits with both earthiness and sweetness. A sour finish. As I say, so pleased to have kept it, and there's still one more.

July 24, 2016 - Thick, dark burgundy with hints of garnet; pretty dense all the way through. Big vine leaves on the nose, followed by some perfumed notes and then black, red and blueberries; tingling pepper and a bracing freshness that gives no sign of age. Vibrant and rich taste, mixed black and red fruits with some pronounced sour cherry. Layers of dryness - black pepper gives way to a red fruit and cherry finish. Good tannins and still some life yet.

April 28, 2016 - Dark burgundy with some dried blood; opaque. Lovely nose - perfumed (violets) with nice fruit and some savoury notes; good depth and no hint of age. Rich and mellow taste, with just a little gentle spice. No signs of age except that the finish fades into pepperiness family quickly. Good black fruit, some of it sour, but much of it still quite sweet. Still good tannins.

January 25, 2014 - A favourite, every day wine with red meats. Medium to full bodied, plenty of dark fruits and light tannins.
