Community Tasting Notes 12

March 12, 2014 - Tasting this probably at the end of its prime, but it's still a great bottle of wine. Huge berry flavor, though the nose soften quite a bit as it breathes. A touch of vanilla and oak really round it out for a very nice bottle of wine. Drink it soon though!

April 13, 2009 - Lots of fruit to the nose, cherry and plum mostly. Decanted 30 minutes. Medium ruby color. Strong plum upfront and long plum finish. Generally soft tannons, almost too soft. The second glass seemed to develop some spiciness to it, which disappeared by the third glass. The long plum finish was too much for me. Too long and too dry. This made me deduct 2 points. Otherwise, a nice approachable wine that's big with fruit and easy to drink and appreciate. This was my 3rd bottle and I'll probably buy more.

November 12, 2008 - Opened and decanted for about an hour. Terrific nose; ripe strawberry, spice, a little oak, and a touch of mint. This has all the characteristics of a great cab on the palate, just lighter. Medium-bodied, somewhat tart but pleasant, and a pretty good value for $20.

November 29, 2007 - The reaction was mixed on this wine. I was in the camp that thought it was a pretty decent bottle. Vanilla and ripe rasberries on the nose. Mocha notes mix with the fruit on a medium bodied palate with a little lushness. There's nothing amazing about this bottle, but it's a decent cab, and the price is reasonable. Maybe a little dill is in there, as well. 84-85

October 15, 2007 - Good fruit, but a bit out of balance. Hard to put my finger on it. Maybe not just as polished as I expected by the other reviews. Solid, but in comparison to other Cali Cabs, probably a good deal. About what I would expect for this price point worldwide.
