January 8, 2019 - Lovely roasted walnut flavours on the nose. Palate is a little tired and foursquare. Pleasant enough.

January 1, 2019 - New Years Day: Vrai Champagne, Third Annual Edition: Really liked this tonight, an excellent bottle showing a lot of maturity and secondary character. Earth, mushroom, golden fruits, wet stones and a rich creamy texture with an effortless finish. Always like Lanson, and this '02 has been good, but tonight's bottle takes it to another level I thought.

December 24, 2018 - A bit of let down at first, but broadened - and balanced - out with some time in the glass. Found the oxidative notes to harmonise well with the remaining fruit but I have had more exciting Gold Labels from poorer vintages (2005 springs to mind). Still this is pretty solid stuff. 91p

December 24, 2018 - Golden as a wedding band. Deep and rich on the nose, with dried apricots the dominant flavour. Rich and satisfying as an aged champagne should be. Still good mousse.
