January 29, 2019 - Last bottle of the experiment, another 2 years on. This wine seems to have been more or less in hibernation since 2017. Fumes of gasoline more dominant now (especially on day 2), but there is still a lot of melon, honey and freshwater lilies. Surprised to see such a cheap wine keeping up appearances in such a degree. I wish I had a couple of more bottles, as this wine will continue to develop at least a few more years, and showing no signs of getting too old.

March 20, 2017 - This wine has had an extraordinary development since I last opened a bottle 2 years ago. As part of an experiment, buying a cheap bottle from a good but demanding vintage, and opening one each year or so, I believed that this wine was dying now, but quite the opposite has happened. The bouquet has become a very integrated mix of melon and water lilies. Still some resemblance to a gewurztraminer, but a lot more subtle. It's sparkling on the tongue, and very well balanced. A pleasant surprise. Will wait 2 more years with the last bottle, to see where this leads.

August 13, 2015 - An aroma of ripe honey-melon and waterlillies, not unlike a young gewürztraminer. It has still got a bit of sparkle to it. Has not improved, rather the opposite.

    June 26, 2014 - Light golden colour.
This wine is slowly developing. It has a fruity maturity, with hints of honey and melon. There is a pleasant dry sweetness to it, and some sparkliness. Is's simpletasting, balanced and with just the right amount of acidity.

May 13, 2013 - I have a feeling I was too generous the first time I opened a bottle. That said, now, a year on, this wine has developed further. Still sparkling and fresh, there is now a thick layer of sweet fruits, like pineapple, banana and melon.
