July 15, 2016 - Love this wine at this time. Silky smooth texture reminds me of a good California pinot. Just beautiful. Nose has cherry, caramel, toffee, espresso, and dry earth. Palate brings that cherry and baking spices to the fore along with very fine tannins and a taught acidity. Add some cigarette ash and a long finish to round out an excellent wine at its drinking peak. I adore the sweet caramel on the nose.

August 7, 2015 - Give this wine some time to breathe. It really opens up. Nose has black fruit, black tea, red berries, wet earth, and spices. Palate is bright but balanced by the forest floor earthiness. Plum, smoke, and maybe even a bit of apple lead to a long and mouthwatering finish. Spices on the palate are exotic with mustard seed and fenugreek coming through with the strong-but-fine tannins. Love this wine. It's very Burgundian in style and well worth seeking out.

August 12, 2014 - Fantastic inky dark wine that stays nimble on the palate. Nose is powerful with nutmeg, wet black earth, smoke, toast, and black cherries. Palate is bright, balanced, and just a bit rustic. Very young-Burgundian actually. Long finish too.
