February 7, 2021 - Drank after a short decant. Concentrated brick with plenty of sediment in the bottle. Heavy, med- stained tears. Dark dried fruit, dried lavender, leather, tobacco, baking spice. Med+ fine tannins, med+ to high acidity, high alcohol. Nice complexity, med. abrupt finish. Alternating brightness with dark and brooding.

April 16, 2016 - This is the third vintage of Patriglione I've tried and the third to punch me in the gut, I really like this wine. Decanted two hours before tasting. Velvety, reddish purple in the glass. Nose of raisin, pine, and leather. Concentrated black fruit balanced with a little tart red on the palate, some caramelly sweetness sneaking in around the three hour mark. Medium-to-long finish, tannins are nicely integrated. This is a great big wine, but it's all in balance, working well on its own and even better paired with food. Its kinship with an amarone is unmistakable, but it's very much its own thing. Really hitting its stride, drink now.

December 22, 2014 - So, do dry - but quite good. For $35, it's a winner in my book.
