December 14, 2016 - Light nose. Medium in body. Super smooth with a quick finish. I would say this is starting to taper off and drink up and enjoy!

May 16, 2013 - Decanted for an hour. Agree with others about the meatiness. Very well balanced and held up well over several hours. Would have liked to see some more complexity in the nose / palate, but I think that could come in a few more years. Should hold up that long.

January 8, 2013 - This wine changed and developed over time, with the fruit taking a small step back and the tannins and some meaty secondary notes pushing through. The leafiness of the franc has persisted, though, making for a nice balance. There's a sad story associated with this estate's demise and their quite enjoyable low production wines will slowly disappear from memory and the marketplace. A shame as this was a very nice example of a restrained Bordeaux blend with distinct California roots.

January 2, 2012 - This was really lush, a little too fruit forward to score higher. Not betting it's a long-term ager, but I will taste my older bottles of Blair to see how they are doing. Has that fullness and chocolaty texture from the merlot, a little herbaceousness from from the Franc, and decent backbone from the Cabernet. Usual black currant, leather, bit of oak, a little mint. Handles its ETOH well, not at all hot even after a day sitting in the kitchen. This isn't the best cab or cab blend I have ever drunk, but it reminds you of why Bord blends have succeeded all over the world. I liked this a lot more than many of the super-Tuscan Bord blends, or many better known Cal blends.
