February 8, 2011 - dark ruby color slightly bricking on edges, nose with garrigue, violets, blueberries and prunes that leans toward the medicinal side. on the palate, tart dark fruit, soft tannins and decent finish. actually put on weight as the evening progressed which surprised me, but the finish also became a bit clipped too. reminds me a little of an aged nebbiolo. i think that this will hold at this state for awhile, but will not improve. plan to drink my last one this year...maybe will wait until thanksgiving?
