Community Tasting Notes 3

December 13, 2017 - Very nice surprice here; freshness prevails, texture is bees wax galore, while rich notes of honey and brioche enters. Good acidity keeps the balance, and while this is certain no light wine, it workes well with food - here a cheese plate, a perfect match.

February 9, 2015 - This was very special, and a completely different experience from what I read in the other tasting note. Bottle was stored in optimal conditions since release and showed beautiful herbal aromatics. No noticeable heat or flabby character. I noticed ripe apple, but not overripe. Of course we are in southern rhone so don't expect an acidic monster, but it was balanced, with years ahead.

October 18, 2012 - Open and tasted. Nose rich, of baked apples with some yeast or light flavours of a good ale, ending with lemon peal. A nose evolved of good quality. Mouth fat, rich, with those baked apples drowned into prunes eau de vie, or sake (because of an energetic bitter end.) A complex wine, expressive, but burning, related to the hot vintage, and, I think a to late harvest: unbalanced with high alcohol.CT 86. Second chance with a roasted chicken : still, the fat's not hiding the alcohol. Third chance the day after: better with hay notes, and without bitter. The burning side is still there but the wine is more clustered and approachable. To conclude , it is a shame that with a yield of 15 hecto/hectare, north exposition, nice expressive flavours ( in between fruit and minerality), the wine is clearly unbalanced. A scouring problem. An ambitious wine, missed. 50eur. Alc 14.5%.
