December 6, 2020 - I’m sitting here watching the Eagles game with the last glass of this, from a bottle opened last night. It hasn’t changed much from last night. Darker fruit tones with licorice accents. Maybe some tar and char. Moderate acidity and some fine tannin remaining. Not very complex, but this is an enjoyable wine. Seems like a modernist take on Barolo. This was my last bottle, but I wouldn’t mind having a few more.

October 7, 2017 - For me a stunning Barolo. Fruit that is powerful but restrained with Blackberry, plum, dark cherry, pepper, cloves. Balanced by refined acidity and firm, slightly coarse tannins. A nice lingering, drying finish makes this a wine to savour and remember. It is going to improve over the next 3 years - I just wish I had a dozen bottles.

March 27, 2012 - Piemonte @ Vinitaly (Verona): I usually find this to be my favourite corino offering but this year was beaten by arborina. It was still its usual elegant expression of nebbiolo just for me lacking a little bit of oomph from the best years.

January 25, 2012 - quick tasting @ l'Insieme Tour 2012: Already quite silky tannins, quite austere flavor profile, a bit neutral and in reserve right now, the fruit somewhere in the back. Might show better with a bit more bottle age. Currently does not show as good as the sensational 2007 did last year. - 89+ points
