February 21, 2021 - We had a short decant window of 40 minutes which wasn’t enough for this beauty.
Stringent tannin, still taste the beautiful fruit from the merlot grape. Nicely structured. The balance was in the wine but it really needed a longer decant.
We had the wine with a great friend.
Should be drank with a great steak.

    January 18, 2021 - Appearance : Clear deep garnet.
Nose : Clean, medium intensity aromas of leather, forest floor, meaty, tobacco, cedar, earth and game. Developing.
Palate : Dry, medium acid, medium tannin, medium(+) flavour intensity, medium (+) body, medium(+) finish, medium alcohol. Flavours of leather, forest floor, meaty, gamey, earth, cedar, tobacco and black plum.
Determination : Outstanding wine. Drink now, not suitable for further ageing.

Gorgeous mature right bank bordeaux, singing and time to enjoy my remaining bottles as they start the slide.

March 6, 2020 - Note: I took Afrin first, as I was getting over a cold, and it shot my palate. I could barely taste or smell. But this helped me pick up on textures.

Color was dark ruby/garnet. Translucent. This had a brightness to it. There's plenty of acid in here, and it's medium bodied. All I could taste was gravel. Having had this wine before, I know what's in there and that there's plenty more to it, but this just wasn't the time to open such a beloved wine. My bad.

But the next day, I was much better off when I finished the bottle. Fruit forward, some dissolved C02 in there with some signs of carbonic maceration, and the fruit was red berry and plum with a bit of evolution. There's a mild tar component too, and of course, that gravel. Overall, a fresh wine in an atypical style that shows innovation and restraint (it's not a carbonic crunch bomb).
