June 2, 2018 - I don't think I've had a Rayas label I didn't like. I've had the 2000 earlier this year, and it was terrific. The color appeared youthful, just a tad darker than their grenache. The wine has a beautiful nose of red fruit, floral and partly cooked bacon. The latter is something that has eluded me with Rhone syrahs. The palate was medium-bodied with nice acidity but don't recall the flavors. A treat to try but prices have crept upwards to make me question future purchases.

June 2, 2018 - On the nose, the syrah notes are coming through with bacon fat and dark fruit. On the palate this is quite tasty, but not sure that it will continue to evolve - seems to be fully mature. Grilled meats, bacon and some spiciness along with mature blackberry and black currant fruit. Medium finish. So much fun to try again.

October 8, 2017 - Drank in a line-up of 5 different Fonsalettes (both standard and Syrah). This is prob on the backend of the lifecycle although still quite enjoyable. Lots of barnyard and saddle leather and spice cabinet. Very well balanced wine. I enjoyed it.
