November 21, 2018 - Very good and caught it before it started to fade too much imo.

September 25, 2017 - Chapoutier Ermitage Tasting (Alpharetta, GA): Cloudy, lighter dull purple rim; tanned leather, pomegranate, cranberry, cocoa powder, olive, dusty, sour plum, herbaceous; slight weedy, currant, plusher tannin, plummy, root vegetables, Syrah like, lots of character, cigarette ash, singed fruit, olive; ready to go.

92 pts

Rockss and Fruit

(Fonsalette Cuvee Syrah) Gorgeous nose of violets, cardamon, cinnamon, blueberry, smoked meat, white pepper. Keeps unfolding and gaining more aromatic complexity minute by minute. Huge blueberry is starting to come out. Some raspberry sorbet almost. What a nose! The palate has a very compelling crystallized fruit quality with tons of sappy fruit. Very focused sweet raspberry fruit and incredible inner mouth confiture. Long finish that has astounding purity. Definetly on the closed side but when this wine is closed is stil so damn expressive. Young and probably will need around 10-15 years of development to really strut its stuff. Great stuf.
