December 13, 2016 - What a pleasant surprise: a tasty blend that has aged very well; for a change, I agree with Newman's 90+ rating.

July 30, 2014 - Definitely better than 1.5 years ago. First bottle was candied cherry cough syrup with a lot of heat. Almost threw them out it was so terrible. This 2nd bottled has mellowed quite a bit to the point where it is exhibiting darker fruits, a touch of spice, and some vanilla. Not as good as the big boys, but getting better. Will wait until last bottle to score.

January 28, 2014 - The Poor man's Prisoner... Very accurate. In fact, if I don't wake-up with a headache tomorrow, I won't buy Orin Swift's version again.
Upon opening there is a ton of jammy vanilla, overoaked fruit that bursts from the glass. The viscosity of the wine actually very impressive! The finish is ruled by oak, but is tasty as the competing fruit is trying to come out.
I am on the fence about buy again, probably should keep 2 on hand at this price.1 person found this helpful Comment -
