Community Tasting Notes 12

December 11, 2022 - Eighteen years of rest and oblivion have been needed to oxidize with delicacy this white Graves.
His brilliant golden body shows maturity.
On the nose, the sweetness of the apple exposed to the air. Honey and dried peaches, brioche, and toasted notes of wood and bitter hazelnut.
Tannic and dry at first sip, it has a good acidity that fulfills the mouth with a vibrant and fresh sensation and also with a long, evocative and toasted sour ending characteristic of oxidative wines.
Definitely, it’s not a wine for people expecting floral and fruity fresh aromas and taste.

July 19, 2020 - Classic aged Graves with lovely honey touches balancing the gooseberry, white pear and nectarine touches. Grippy grape tannins and acidity makes this a refreshing lunchtime wine.

May 11, 2020 - This one was oxidized.

May 19, 2019 - What a cellar found. Bought a case 14 years ago in subscription and drank most of it rather young. Now fully ripe with some honey and brioche but a good structure and nice acidity. Shows, why white Bordeaux has the stuff to age gracefully.

April 15, 2013 - Just holding on. Very rich now, with wet stones on the nose and a touch of walnuts. Actually come to life though as you drink it and the last glass was the best. Not a wine you can serve to everyone, but if you like complex. mature whites, its still a good drink.
