April 6, 2022 - Note: I use the recommended scale. 85 is very good wine.
Although the rating is only one point higher, this was a better bottle than the one I had last November.
Still not my up of tea for an Amarone -- not quite as smooth as I prefer -- but not bad. -

I was not as impressed with this bottle as many were.
Full and rich as might be expected from an Amarone, but not as smooth as I expected. I have a half bottle left, perhaps this will change.
Also, I do not seem to appreciate Italian wines in general as much as ,many others. I do not mention this to argue (to each his own); rather, I mention it to provide a context for this TN. -

September 30, 2020 - Medium ruby with mild clearing
Intense aromas of red fruit/ dried currants and mushroom and interesting dill pickle juice notes - mild raisination character and mild oak influence - quite attractive
Medium plus palate of dried red and blue fruit - a bit monodimensional
Medium acidity and medium tannins with highish alcohol which dominates the back palate, prob due to the relative lack of acidity and tannins
Score primarily based on the aromas which were really intriguing
Amarone is definitely not one of my favorite styles of wine but I enjoyed this!

September 29, 2020 - Single blind tasting
Garnet
Aromatics high. Pickle juice, celery seen and secondary of vanilla bean. Over time this shifts to dried red currants. Subtle oak
Palate medium +. Acid medium. Tannins medium, fine on teeth and gums. Alcohol medium +. Ripe but older dried blue fruit. No secondary
Length medium. Balanced. Unique aromatics
Ready to drink now, but waiting seems okay to see what else evolves with the aromatics. The producer's website suggests at least 15 years to start to reach it's prime
It was been awhile since I tried an Amarone blind. Certainly surprised me with the aromatics. -

January 25, 2020 - It had been a while since I had this wine. This bottle was outstanding and better than earlier samplings. It was smooth and delicious. Wish I had more.
