January 19, 2020 - I only had a chance to taste a few sips of this, but it was quite nice. Very fine and focused tannins, good fruit. Maybe not worth the price but very good.

December 16, 2019 - Dark brooding wine. Coffee, chocolate and blueberries. Solid tannins bode well for a long life ahead but don’t detract from enjoyment today. Big nose and a long earthy complex finish with a hint of mint.

May 25, 2019 - The 2009 Bond Pluribus is wine of perfect balance and harmony. Cracked black pepper, cassis, chocolate, and licorice all come together seamlessly. The silky smooth texture is lovely and unlike the powerhouse I was expecting from a Pluribus. The 2009 is drinking beautifully now without the need for much of a decant.

March 29, 2019 - This silky and integrated Cabernet is flat-out stunning right now - ripe, polished, and classy, it’s among the best CA Cabernets I’ve ever tasted at the 10-year mark. Dark red in color; medium in body; nose of blueberry, cherry tart, mulberry, and warm gravel. Tastes of boysenberry, milk chocolate, black licorice, baking spices, and vanilla, with a lingering and lifted finish. 14.5% alcohol. No decant necessary, though it gains depth with about an hour of air.

There are two reasons I feel conflicted about liking Bond wines: they are (a) expensive and (b) obvious. If you pay attention to Napa wines, there's no real discovery; these wines are supposed to be great, and they are. Optics aside, though, this is an objectively amazing wine: delicious fruit, impeccable balance, and incredible mouthfeel. It competes easily with those in this rarefied price point (e.g., Ovid, Cardinale, Verite). Drink now or in next year or two.

February 3, 2019 - Ready to drink now - much to admire in the 2009. Beautifully resonant on the palate, the 2009 possesses striking depth and nuance. Time in the glass seems to bring out the wine's natural richness and generous, inviting texture.
