  August 17, 2018 - With roast pork. Audouzed 1hr then poured through aerating device. Lovely nose with a little swirling, those typical loamy, mushroomy notes that elicit an involuntary 'Ummmm'. Same on the palate - still fairly primary fruit, plodding slowly towards maturity. Moderate acid, just enough to control the fruit, which completely smothers the tannin until 2 or 3 hours into the bottle. When Burgundy's good it's oh so good. Punching way above its modest village classification.

  January 12, 2018 - Nose of spice, dust and red fruits. On the palate, underneath it is it is bright; clean and mineral with a fresh raspberry/cherry fruit core riding atop. A medium long clean finish follows this fun multidimensional mid profile.

  March 6, 2017 - 1hr decant. With roast chicken & all the trimmings. Cherry & strawberry bouquet while decanting which followed through on the still fairly primary palate. Quite sweet, lowish acidity, but some earthy sous-bois & very round mouthfeel made for a very satisfying partner to the food. Good, will be better after a few more years I feel.

  November 8, 2013 - Very light ruby color with aromas of cherry, lavender and violets with underlying spice and mineral notes. Has just the slightest bit of very fine tannin with flavors of clay, minerals and cherries. Has a satiny mouthfeel with a long, lingering finish. Maintains its balance across the entire palate. This is so very pretty- this is my wheelhouse for Burgundy. I guessed Volnay.
