Community Tasting Notes 4

March 4, 2023 - Not as impressive as my previous bottle a couple years ago. A bit more austere, singular, herbal with notes, the perfume is limited.

July 6, 2021 - Needed a 2 hour decant. In a good place. Crunchy red fruits with a hint of iron on the finish. Nice mouthfeel. Reminded me of Chambolle. Delicious.

December 13, 2019 - Really loving this wine. Starts off with some funk but with air reveals some crunchy blue fruits, herbs, violet and rose flower. Palate is lean and taught with more cherry fruit, sweet tea, minerals and gravelly earth. Excellent and a steal at 60 in auction.

February 24, 2018 - Young Burgundy Flight (The Wine Club, San Francisco): Magnum. Translucent ruby. Quite a bit of brett and char-not what I expect from a Drouhin wine. Chewy and big for Volnay, blacker fruit, strong citric acidity, quite structured and tannic. If the amount of brett is representative, I worry about this wine over time.
