  February 10, 2024 - Appealing Pinot Noir aromas with wild dark berries, cherries, forest floor and some liquorice. Slender on the palate, with fine tannins. A good Gevrey, but not quite up there among the best grand crus. Which Charmes-Chambertin seldom is.

  July 26, 2023 - An evening with George (Bistro Cocotte, Haberfield): Meaty, savoury, non-delineated black fruits with a little red fruit underpin, sweet spice, slightly gamey. Juicy, slight lean; red fruit more to the fore, a little cola, talc textured tannins are integrated and persistent. Long. Lovely tannins.

Meaty, savoury, jubey black and red berry fruit, plenty of woody sweet spice, a little mocha note, quite sweetly fruited. Juicy fresh red and blackberry fruit, tiny ashy notes, sweet spiced tannins very much in support, offering a little floury textured grip.
